daily photo

So, the movie was awesome. As always, I had a blast with Kai and Izzy. Kai actually booked his tickets today to come visit me in June/July, which is great! We grabbed a milkshake before the theatre, as planned, then headed over. It's a great film, I recommend everyone go see it. So cute. We left and came outside to what can only be described as a monsoon. We got drenched from running 10 yards! Not good. Home and dry now, though. I've spent the last hour making mix cds for people. Here are my photos.

Yay for the bank!

Yay for cheap, tacky sunglasses!

And the doors just keep opening....

I got my credit cards paid off, got a great small loan and my bank account got upgraded to a Premier. How awesome is that? Things just keep getting better. I also found out that my car is worth around £6,000, which is amazing, considering I bought it for £5,500 as a promotional price. Everything is working itself out.

I'm going to the movies tonight with Kyle and Izzy. We're having a milkshake before at this retro burger bar, Eddie's Rockets. I'll put my daily photo up later. I just made the mistake of trying to eat mushroom soup after drinking a bunch of water, ew. Having not eaten anything of real sustenance since Saturday, my tummy was not a fan, and now I feel sick. On a brighter note, it's freezing outside and it might snow. Here's hoping!

"oh, my tongue's the only muscle in my body that works harder than my heart"

Yes, another shoe photo. But, I got these for free! The cutest cherry red mary jane esque heels ever to have lived. This photo does them no justice. I took back two tops that I got bought for Christmas and had £50 store credit for one of my favourite stores, Outfit. I bought those, three tops, two pairs of earrings and a necklace. I love free things, considering I'm not spending money and saving. I still feel sick. I went to the bank today, but they couldn't fit me in, so I'm going back tomorrow at 1pm. Hopefully everything will work out. Lord only knows it'll make things so much easier.

I was ridiculously productive again today! I unpacked both of my suitcases and went through my closets sorting things out. Another trash bag of things was removed, and I'm still not even half way done. Proud of myself, though, for de-cluttering and moving forward with this. It's easy to get stressed and procrastinate. One thing I wish, however, is that I could return to the land of the normal and sleep and be healthy. Right now, I'm not getting remotely tired until 4/5am, then waking up at 10am to do the same again. Ah well. I can't believe tomorrow's Thursday.. this week has flown by again. I'm looking forward to the weekend, even though it won't be much different from today, but I get to watch the Steelers get their asses handed to them (hopefully) and have a few drinks with my nearest and dearest while doing so.

goal 038.

Uploading a new photo every day... Here's today's. (I'm going to finish my 101/1001, I just need some time)

Christmas slippers! Well, hot pink bed socks/slippers that I got from my sister, brother in-law and nieces. I came home to a big bag of presents on Sunday. That was awesome. I'm still sick, which sucks. Bronchitis is balls, I tell you. I've spent lots of time in bed, drinking copious amounts of tea. I haven't really eaten in three days, and my system is full of antibiotics. I could kill for a glass of Shiraz or Rioja.

I've spent the past few hours going through the drawers and little cupboards in my room. Man, I have a lot of crap. How do I accumulate so much stuff?! I've just thrown away two trash bags of.. well.. junk, not to mention filling another one half way up of things to give to my sister. I'm feeling productive. Busy day tomorrow; a trip to the bank, sorting things and unpacking. That doesn't sound hectic, but it will be for someone who's running on almost empty. On that note, I'd just like to say that my friends have been amazing to me since getting back and being unwell. Thanks to everyone who's hung out with me, talked to me and been kind.

It's Superbowl Sunday this weekend. Totally behind the Cardinals all of the way, though I'll be sporting my sky blue T.O 81 jersey, sitting next to my best friend in his Bears (cringe) version. We'll unite for a night.

a fresh start

I created this new blog in the hopes of leaving the content of my livejournal behind. I'm not going to delete it, but keep it as a reminder of how I've grown and the events that brought me to where I am today.

I am hoping that 2009 will be a damn sight better than last year. Nothing could have prepared me for what transpired over those 12 months. I'm not going to detail anything, only to describe where I am now and what my plans are.

I'm moving back to the states in the next four - six weeks to be in LA with Matt. I spent the past month there, and I love it. Things with us are stronger and better than ever, and, with marriage counseling, we've been able to really work on our problems as opposed to just sweeping them under the carpet. We're going to start our own business as recruitment/staffing specialists in the medical sector, working with therapists, nurses, doctors, etc. Given that we both have great experience in this area (and that we currently work in it) it just seems right. To be able to work for ourselves and build something together. We've already got the business plan written, the financial side sorted and an office rented. It's exciting.

We found an awesome downtown apartment building that we're on the list for, plus my green card is finally sorted out. Things just seem to be falling into place. Matt's band is taking off, and I'm doing all of the marketing/promotion for them, not to mention the fact that I started a production company for Shreveport/Bossier that I'm working on. We'll record, produce, promote and showcase local talent. The guys have a studio rented out, so we'll all be working on it together. I feel strongly about it, and I'm passionate about it. I've joined two casting agencies in Shreveport, as well as a theatre there. I'm also going back to dance classes when I move and I've found a great school to attend. Matt and I are putting money aside for me to buy my long-wanted Nikon D90, so that I can really, well and truly, get back into photography. We've been looking at cars for me too, and I'm thinking about a VW Golf, Nissan Versa or a smaller Toyota 4x4. I'm sad about selling mine here, though. I guess that this year, I'm going to take life by the balls more than ever before. I'm going to make my pipe dreams a reality, and move the dreams on the back burner to the foreground. I'm going to be busy, but happy.

I'm starting to truly grieve for Mum, which is a good and painful process. I remember so many amazing things about her, and continually am reminded of how much she achieved through her life. I'm so proud of her. Not a second goes by when she's not on my mind. I strive to make her proud, which is why I'm making my own way instead of waiting for things to fall into my lap.

This post turned out to be a lot longer than I anticipated. I'm going to do one of those Day Zero things in a minute, and I'll post it on here. Hey, it helps pass the time when you're bored and sick.
